Msunduzi’s recently elected council has reopened the debate on the City’s controversial sponsorship of the Maritzburg United Football Club.

The matter came up at Tuesday's  council meeting during the discussion of the municipality’s finances and budget priorities for next six months.

DA councillor, Ross Strachan proposed the City revoked the previous council decision to sponsor the soccer team. After a brief discussion, councillors decided that the matter would be discussed when the mid-term budget review is tabled next month.
