The Democratic Alliance has blamed Msunduzi’s “unrealistic” 2020/21 budget for the City’s financial crisis.

A special executive committee meeting was convened last week to deal with the electricity crisis in the municipality.

“The meeting which resolved that R80 million be made available for the refurbishment of some of the substations was proof that the municipality had indeed made an unrealistic budget for the financial year 2020/21,” said DA caucus leader Sibongiseni Majola.
