Msunduzi Municipality has settled its R203,6 million debt with Eskom for bulk purchases and intends paying off what it owes Umgeni Water by the end of this month.
It also said on Wednesday that its financial position had improved for the 2019/20 financial year compared to 2018/19.
In addition, it had seen a further noticeable improvement in the mid-year financial performance.
