Msunduzi has not been able to resolve most of the problems that led to the municipality being placed under administration in 2019.

According to KZN Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) MEC, Sipho Hlomuka, crippling billing and electricity challenges meant that the municipality would continue being under administration.

“There are still serious challenges around electricity, billing and refuse disposal,” he said during a media briefing in Howick on Thursday.
