The Pietermaritzburg and Midlands Chamber of Business (PMCB) has rejected Msunduzi Municipality’s proposal to offer amnesty to its beleaguered customers.

PMCB chief executive Melanie Veness said she was against the proposed discounts that would be offered to businesses and the government until the end of the year.

Veness said the proposed amnesty was unfair to the customers who paid their accounts diligently.
