The murder trial of Simphiwe Mweli, (37) who is charged with the murder of businesswoman, Kavitha Nerputh in January 2020, was on Tuesday postponed to August 6.

It is unclear whether the trial is expected to proceed on that date.

Pietermaritzburg courts, while open, are currently hearing few trials. The majority of cases are being postponed following the recent unrest.
