Pietermaritzburg couple beaten to death by community

A couple was beaten to death by community members at KwaMpumuza area in what is alleged to have been a vigilante attack. The incident happened on Sunday at around 8 pm.

According to sources the couple have been identified as Mxolisi Mchunu (37) and his girlfriend Londeka Mvelase (25).

The angry group reportedly stormed into the house and dragged them out and started beating them while accusing them of stealing R2 500 and a Samsung cellphone from one of the houses in the area. It is unclear whether the items were found or not.
