His taps are dry, but he gets billed every month for the water he does not use.

KwaMnyandu resident Sandile Ndawonde is frustrated at receiving water bills every month while he does not have water. Ndawonde said he is forced to collect water from other people’s homes using his car, and from the rain.

His bill for February says he owes the municipality just over R9 000 for water usage at his home in Vulindlela. Speaking to The Witness, Ndawonde said he wants answers from the municipality regarding this amount because they have had water problems in the area since 2016.
