The mother of a four-year-old girl that was attacked and killed by two pit bulls wants the dogs to be put down before they attack someone else.

Banele Shelembe from the Mvundlweni area at KwaMnyandu, Elandskop was with three older children on Wednesday afternoon when the dogs from the area attacked her. They had been sent to the shop to buy salt by her mother. During the attack the three other children managed to run away and call for help.

Banele’s mother Jabu Mncibi, told The Witness that when she heard the screams she quickly rushed out of the house to the road to find out what was happening. She said she saw her child being dragged by two pit bulls. The one had her by the neck while the other held onto her leg.
