Police, paramedics and members of the community are pictured outside the home of a Hayfields resident who was tied up and robbed by burglars.

A 49-year-old woman was tied up by robbers, who then ransacked her Hayfields home on Friday afternoon.

Colin David, director of Mi7, said paramedics and armed response teams from the firm rushed to the scene in response to an emergency call.

The team managed to get into the victim’s house and untied her. She told them that three men had broken into her home in Rushmore Road, through a louvre window. Two of the robbers went inside the house, tied her up and then stole a number of items.
