As more Covid-19 tender corruption is uncovered, a Pietermaritzburg man who “stood up” to KZN transport department officials demanding a “kickback” is taking legal action after his personal protective equipment (PPE) tender deal was cancelled.

The department strongly denied that there were any attempts on the parts of its officials to extract kickbacks from the man.

Sithembiso Ndlovu, a Pietermaritzburg event organiser, said he was over the moon after the department approved his proposal to supply latex gloves, masks and other PPE to the tune of R3 million through his company, Ogatsheni Enterprise and Communication
