LifeLine Pietermaritzburg protested outside the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Thursday morning, demanding justice for a 16-year-old girl who was shot nine times last month and miraculously survived.

The girl was shot on August 25, at her home in Imbali, allegedly by a man who had also allegedly raped her back in 2019. He was arrested for the rape, denied bail by the magistrate's court, but later granted bail when he appealed the decision to the Pietermaritzburg High Court. He has not been arrested in connection with the shooting.

The teenager is currently recovering in hospital.

LifeLine handed a memorandum to the high court saying they want him arrested for attempted murder.

This is a developing story.
