ANC bigwigs at the party’s caucus in Parliament are pushing for the removal of Pietermaritzburg ANC MP, Mervyn Dirks.
Dirks, who angered ANC caucus leaders after lodging a complaint against President Cyril Ramaphosa with the National Assembly’s Select Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa) on Tuesday, failed to meet the ANC leadership’s deadline to withdraw his complaint.
Dirks is currently the Scopa whip and member of the ANC caucus’ powerful strategy committee.
