A group of recyclers are taking down scrap metal from the shops on Church Street that were burnt down during the recent unrest.

Apparently they have been given permission by shop owners to do as they please with the metal. However, The Witness was unable to confirm this with any of the shop owners. A security guard on site said shop owners have seen the group of recyclers and allowed them to take away the metal.

The recyclers said the metal taken from these shops is being sold to local scrap yards.
