The upcoming inauguration of councillors in KwaZulu-Natal could spark protest action.

This was the warning of veteran violence monitor and analyst Mary de Haas, who said the recent shooting of a ward councillor candidate in Harding was an indication of serious discontent.

De Haas was speaking ahead of Msunduzi Municipality’s inauguration of councillors on Wednesday.
