Three men allegedly involved in the Edendale Baker’s Mall cash-in-transit heist were arrested in Kloof, Durban on Wednesday.

Theirs comes after the arrest of 24-year-old last Monday.

It is alleged that a group of five men pointed a gun at a Fidelity Cash Management officer and took the money bag with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as his firearm.

They ran through a small gate exiting the mall towards the Edendale Main Road to a parked white Suzuki sedan, which was suspected to be their gateway car.

A reliable source told The Witness a shoot-out between the security guards and alleged robbers ensued forcing the five men to abandon their gateway car.

A 24-year-old was arrested near the Plessislaer SAPS detectives offices.

“He was found with the cash bag, an unlicensed 9mm firearm and the key for the getaway vehicle,” said the source.

The investigation is ongoing.
