TVET students who have been occupying the land outside uMgungundlovu TVET campus were served with an interdict on Friday morning, ordering them to stay 100 metres away from the campus with immediate effect or face charges.

Students complained that they have still not received housing allowances from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and as a result they have been staying and sleeping outside the campus for the past 18 days.

Student and EFF command chairperson for the college, Minenhle Dlamini said they were told to go to the Pietermaritzburg High Court early on Friday morning, where they were served with the interdict.
