Stocks of both the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines ran out at the Royal Agricultural Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg on Friday.

The KZN department of health’s Ntokozo Maphisa said they regretted the “temporary shortage of vaccine doses”, which was due to supply constraints caused by the recent civil unrest.

Maphisa said doses of the Pfizer vaccine were received on Friday afternoon afternoon and would be available from Saturday onwards.
