Pietermaritzburg businessman and tenant at the Greater Edendale Mall Sabelo Vilakazi speaks about the devastation caused by the looting of the mall.

Vilakazi said he watched helplessly as the looters took whatever they could from his Club Capital Lounge.

He said he had 53 staff members, including security guards, waiters and cashiers.

“How can our black brothers and sisters destroy us like this? It has taken me 10 full years to have three shops at this mall,” said Vilakazi.

Clean up operations have also started at the mall.
