When I left the Witness newsroom for the last time in 2005, a headline on the newspaper’s page two screamed: “Witness man takes top post”. At the time, I thought it was too soon to be referred to as a “Witness man”. I’m happy to say today, 16 years later, that the headline now fits me like a hand in a glove.

Dear reader, please stay with me as I take you behind the scenes of The Witness newsroom, looking through the lens of someone who resigned from The Witness three times, and returned three times.
