The Pietermaritzburg High Court is likely to dismiss Jacob Zuma’s application to appeal Tuesday’s judgment that Advocate Billy Downer is qualified to prosecute him.

This is according to a legal expert.

The JG Zuma Foundation on Tuesday indicated that Zuma, who wanted senior prosecutor Downer to be removed as lead prosecutor in the former president’s arms deal corruption case, was likely to appeal the ruling by Judge Piet Koen, who found that Zuma’s claims against Downer were “inadmissible hearsay”.
