LETTER:

To my astonishment and disgust did I read the latest developments in a recent media report regarding a letter addressed to our City’s chief internal auditor, Petrus Mahlaba and another very senior official, Madeleine Jackson, with the intention to suspend.

It’s amazing how history repeats itself five years down the track — municipal officials who are the most hardworking, transparent and ethical have been tossed out once again just before a local government election. They were called back to do damage control, clean up the mess left by rampant corrupt dealings and pretty much used up, and then spat out again. This is the modus operandi, the distinctive and blatant ploy, to cover corruption before a campaign, and to block any chance of exposing the loot before the exit of the current feeding frenzy.
