LETTER:

The uproar over the appearance of an advert for a “Third wave party” does have some merit, insofar as the concerns of parents and principals are concerned.

Especially in the face of media revelations that the new variant of the Covid-19 virus is more likely to target young people. However, having said this, we are still on a rather relaxed lockdown level one. As such, parties are still being held all over the country. Pubs, beer halls and recreational venues are also open. On top of this, the youth are too irresponsible for the comfort of elderly people. I see this every day outside my gate, from the local schoolchildren — no masks, sanitising or social distancing.
