In spite of seven-time aQuellé Midmar Mile champion Chad Ho having retired from swimming, the 30-year-old Olympian has confirmed that he will take part in this year’s event.

The 2021 edition of the open water swim competition is scheduled for Sunday at the Midmar Dam in Howick, with only 40 elite swimmers expected to take part in the race.

Scores of other swimmers are expected to take part in the virtual race from anywhere in the world, while the 8 Mile and 16 Mile Charity Swim events are scheduled for next Thursday and Friday at the dam.
