Upbeat Maritzburg United coach Ernst Middendorp wishes for football followers in KwaZulu-Natal to be proud of all three of the province’s clubs in the DStv Premiership by the end of the season.

While Middendorp’s side have spent all of the 2021/22 campaign fighting relegation, AmaZulu and Golden Arrows have surprised everybody with their rapid improvements this season and big jumps into the “gentlemen’s section” of the standings.

But Maritzburg have a chance to lift themselves into mid-table when they face Tshakhuma in Limpopo today, and will then have fixtures against Cape Town City and SuperSport United away, and AmaZulu at home to complete the 30-game season.
