Maritzburg United’s Serbian import Dusan Stevic is set to finally make his debut for the relegation-threatened side when they play TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership in Nelspruit on Saturday.

The right-footed defender has been included in the travel party by coach Ernst Middendorp, after he missed several matches through a hamstring problem. He joined Maritzburg in the middle of February with experience from playing in his home league, Greece and Macedonia, while the Midlands outfit lost their star centreback Rushine de Reuck to Pretoria’s Mamelodi Sundowns.

Maritzburg said at the time of Stevic’s signing: “The technical team together with club management identified the need to strengthen our defence and after doing our research, we found that Stevic fitted the profile well of what we were looking for.
