Until recently, and quite recently at that, rugby was the name of the game, not a war of words in the media, and certainly not an excuse for blatantly unsporting behaviour.

“Rugby is not played on paper but between two white lines on a playing field”, was the maxim.

But Warren Gatland has trashed all that by criticising and rattling the TMO before the first Test last weekend.
