Griquas wing Eduan Keyter prepares to dive over the goal line for one of his four tries against the Lions.

Griquas left wing Eduan Keyter ran in four of his teams five tries as they claimed a bonus-point 41-31 (halftime 17-12) win over the ill-disciplined Lions in their Currie Cup clash in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

The Lions finished the match with 13 men after fullback EW Vijoen was red carded in the 54th minute for a high no-arms hit and replacement back Dylan Matthews was then yellow carded with seven minutes left for a reckless clean out which put paid to any hopes the home side had of winning the match.

The game kicked off in farcical fashion for the home side as they secured the kick-off only for prop Jannie du Plessis to lose the ball, allowing Griquas flank Gideon van der Merwe to pick up the ball and run in the opening try after just 22 seconds.
