Veteran scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar insists South African franchises have made great strides to adapt to the United Rugby Championship (URC), but urged them to remain focused.

Pienaar (37) is currently on-loan to the Sharks from the Cheetahs, and he is with the Durban-based franchise on their current European tour.

South African sides look to have overcome their tough start with the Sharks, Bulls and the Lions all having victories to their name now, while the Stormers broke their losing streak with a draw against Edinburgh at the weekend.
