In spite of missing 10 first-choice players due to Covid-19, the Sharks still managed to kick off their Currie Cup campaign with an emphatic 45-10 victory over the Pumas at Kings Park in Durban on Friday night.
Springbok winger S’bu Nkosi came off the bench in the second half to score two tries and claimed the man-of-the-match accolade as the Sharks ran seven tries compared to just one by the Pumas.
Skipper Jeremy Ward also scored two tries in the first half while other first-half tries came from Kerron van Vuuren, Sanele Nohamba and Dyalan Richardson. Star flyhalf Curwin Bosch managed to convert five of those as the Durbanites secured a bonus-point win.
