Some 2 500 runners have already confirmed their participation in the Comrades Centenary Hope Challenge virtual race scheduled for June 13.

A total of 34 000 runners were going to take part in the Comrades Marathon this year as part of the race’s centenary celebrations, but the event had to be cancelled due to Covid-19.

To continue with the celebrations, however, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) launched the Hope Challenge last month which allows people to still be part of the celebrations.
