South African golfers have much to play for collectively this week, with the United States hosting big tournaments for men and women especially.

The lucrative American scene features the Jack Nicklaus-created Memorial Tournament in Ohio and the U.S. Women’s Open in California from Thursday.

There are also established “Saffers” in action at the Porsche European Open in Germany and at relatively minor competitions in Japan and other parts of the globe, as well as the SunBet Challenge at Sun City on the restarted Sunshine Tour.
