Maritzburg United may not have a sparkling record for this PSL campaign, but Ernst Middendorp’s side have managed to grab something out of a match in Polokwane with 10 men on two occasions in three months.

They went into on Wednesday’s encounter with Marumo Gallants in the hope of avoiding a seventh defeat in 12 outings, and there was apparently little to chose between the sides in the untelevised affair at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

However, life got tougher for the visitors when attacking midfielder Zukile Kewuti was sent off early in the second half.
