Seals’ veteran coach and race director, Wayne Riddin, believes that the SA National Swimming Championships, coupled with the Midmar Mile, gives a mighty boost to the sport in the region and helps promote Pietermaritzburg as a destination.

The Short Course Champs will open at Seals’ cherished facility in Pine Street on Saturday afternoon and features 200 swimmers from around the country, meaning there is a financial spin-off for the city in terms of accommodation rentals, food sales etc.
