The yo-yo that is the British Lions tour was in full swing this past week. The upside was that we got to see both the touring lads and our moth-balled Boks in action, with the latter looking decidedly rusty against strong opposition, while the Lions were certainly slick against poor opposition.

The downside is the news that lock R.G. Snyman is unlikely to play as he has had a skin-graft operation. And just as bad, our other lock member of The Bomb Squad, Lood de Jager, tested positive for Covid-19. So, The Bomb Squad which overpowered England in the 2019 World Cup final, will not run on against the Lions. However, when the Boks brought on a second front row of Kitshoff, Marx and Malherbe, they changed the game and were soon dubbed: The Green Berets.
