Young Pietermaritzburg runner Zola Sokhela is over the moon after being selected for the South African World U20 Championships preparation squad.

The World U20 Champs are scheduled to take place in Kenya next year from August 17 and will finish on the 22nd.

The Michaelhouse Grade 12 pupil is the only athlete from KwaZulu-Natal to make the team and he has said it is all thanks to hard work and best advice from his coach Xolani Mabhida, also based in the city.
