Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen has expressed his disappointment at allegations that the party’s Western Cape leader, Bonginkosi Madikizela, may have lied on his CV about being in possession of a BCom degree.

Madikizela, who is the Western Cape public works and transport MEC, was suspended on Friday.

It was unclear what impact this would have on Madikizela’s bid to become the next mayor of The City of Cape Town.
