Opposition parties have celebrated the ousting of Thembinkosi Ngcobo as head of eThekwini Municipality’s Park, Recreation and Culture unit.

According to reports, Ngcobo was fired on Monday by the city for failing to report corrupt activities in his unit.

Democratic Alliance Community Services Whip, Mmabatho Tembe, said the firing of Ngcobo was “long overdue”.
