Die Antwoord hits UK top 40

Cape Town - Local hip-hop outfit Die Antwoord made BBC's Radio One hit parade this week.

Their hit single Enter the Ninja, a new entry on Radio One's Top 40 hit list, is currently at number 37.

The group recently signed a contract with record company Interscope. This company also manages big names in the industry such as Lady Gaga, Eminem, Sting and Enrique Iglesias.

The group consists of Ninja, Yo-landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek. Their debut CD, $O$, will be released worldwide on October 12.

Millions of people have visited their website to watch their music videos.

The video for Enter the Ninja, which is also on YouTube, had been watched by more than 7.4 million people on Wednesday.

The video is also often played on MTV in Europe.

The group's world tour ended in the UK last month. They had been touring the US and Europe since June.

They are scheduled to perform 35 more shows in the US and Europe during October and November.

Earlier this year they played at the Coachella music festival in Los Angeles as well as the Summer Sonic festival in Japan.
