Los Angeles - Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts and Halle Berry won starring roles in People magazine's annual list of the world's 50 most beautiful people, the publication said on Thursday.

The list, which appears in this week's edition of the celebrity mag that hits the US newsstands on Friday, also features a battalion of other entertainment stars and even a British royal and a US politician.

Australian beauty Kidman, divorced last year from superstar Tom Cruise, made the magazine's cover, offering her possible consolation for having missed out on this year's best actress Oscar to Halle Berry.

Berry, the first black star to win the top Academy Award, also made the list, along with this year's best actor Oscar winner Denzel Washington.

Pretty Woman star Roberts, who is also said to be Hollywood's most powerful woman, made the 13th edition of the list for a record seventh time, along with Black Hawk Down star Josh Hartnett and diva Alicia Keyes.

Also featuring on the list was the daughter of Britain's Princess Royal - and granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II - Zara Phillips (20) who sports a tongue piercing and lives openly with her boyfriend.

Another British culinary whiz and journalist Nigella Lawson also appeared on the list, as did the organizer of this year's Salt Lake City Olympic Games, Mitt Romney, who is considering running for the post of governor of Massachusetts.

Two Hollywood-based Australian actors Hugh Jackman and Simon Baker also featured as among the 50 most delectable people on earth, as did best supporting actress winner Jennifer Connelly, actress Cameron Diaz and former supermodel Cindy Crawford. - Sapa-AFP
