World Cup apperances: 10 (1934, 1938, 1950, 1958, 1970, 1974, 1978, 1990, 1994, 2002)

World Cup best: Runners-up (1958)

Fifa world ranking: 16

Odds: 33/1

Coach: Lars Lagerback

Now in sole charge of the Swedish team after a successful partnership with Tommy Soderberg that ended after the Euro 2004 tournament, where the Swedes were eliminated in the quarter-finals.

One of the stars of Sweden's Euro 2004 campaign, Ibrahimovic continued his good form through qualifying where he found the net on no fewer than eight occasions. But Ibrahimovic has looked horribly out of sorts for Juventus in the second half of the Serie A season, and Swedish fans will be praying the talented striker rediscovers his scoring touch in time for Germany.
