A Description of a Satisfied Happy Life Filled with Abundance of Joy

The monk who sold his Ferrari by Robin S Sharma offers the practical idea  a good life that is internally deep and satisfying. But first it describes the vagueness and eventual collapsing of Western way of life or civilization. The collapse of the Western Civilization and way of life is epitomized or represented by a successful multi million dollar lawyer Julian Mantle. Julian Mantle was the talk of the town and a very much successfully lawyer with had a Ferrari and a huge mansion to prove his success. Like all successful people his was upmarket meaning that his lifestyle was described by delicacies, luxuries and a way of life that is separate to the common living of the majority of people. He was goal oriented meaning he was sharply focused on creating more successes on a daily basis to the exclusion of anything else. anything else that did not add up to his success like was eliminated from his life. People honored and respected him for what he represented - success that many aspire to but fail to get.

But even though Julian Mantle was successful to the full and seemed a lot more satisfied by his wealth and great legal career - inwardly he was hollow and unfufilled, he often felt empty despite all the luxuries, the wealth and soft smooth delicate living. All these were what he felt inside but could not manifest outwardly bacause outwarddly he has to upkeep and continue to nature his successful image. So here we have a person with split personalities, that is felt by many people today: outside fine but inwardly depressions, dark fears and internal worry.

It all shattered one day when Julian Mantle while arguing a high profile divorce case collapsed in the middle of the courtroom out of stress and depression that was buried deep within but now could not be hold any longer. It seemed as he collapsed that there was notgoing to be a turning back that he was going to die. But somewhat he finally made it and recovered. This incisdent really had impact on Julian Mantle psychologically. He was a changed man. All his success, wealth and luxuries seemed to no matter any more.

Eventually he escaped American life and went to India where he lived in the rugged mountains far away from modern way of living. He lived with rugged people outwardly but inwardly satisfied. That is wisdom: the satisfied life that comes from within is durable and peaceful.

But as Julian learnt this practical lessons he went back to america with the passion of trying to share this satisfying life to his fellow Americans.
