Anti Obama Group NOBAMA, Talks Shallow Simplistic Rubbish!

2013-06-28 09:54

What is the basis of this disjointed simplistic and voyeuristic Nobama opposition of President Barack Obama's descend in South Africa? These people have thrown various allegations that are simply shallow and simplistic. I am dismayed!

President Barack Obama is the face of the 21st century whose personal integrity and demeanor smells like fresh flowers. He cannot be dismissed lightly on the basis of lamentations, stereotyping and even being typecast. It does not matter how people are disappointed and aggrieved by the wars America is waging across the world. Where were these Nobama people  on July, 2003 when the most notorious US President George W Bush visited South Africa? George invaded Iraq in March 2003 and immediately descended in South Africa. Why were there no marches!  I am dismayed! I am asking; what are these people about? What motivates them at the deeper subconscious level?

But never mind, let us consider the most important continental issues...

Will this be the only and last visit President Barack Obama makes to Africa as President of United States of America? I believe and only hope that President Barack Obama should give himself an opportunity to attend an African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and engage all African leaders in friendly African conversation on how to entrench democracy, good governance, institutional reforms, prosperity and advancement on the African continent.

Such meeting is key as now many African countries that he did not visit are feeling alienated - in particular Kenya.

It was great that President Barack Obama in his first stop in Africa had a very cordial round table conversation with Africa's Chief Justices from Ghana, Benin, Botswana, Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia and host nation, Senegal.

In that cordial round-table conversation President Obama emphasized the importance of an independent judiciary system and respect for the rule of law across Africa. This was an informal but very formal and serious meeting and President Obama opened the conversation by saying: "I have to say that it’s a great honour to be with such a distinguished group of justices from across Africa. As some of you may know, I am a lawyer myself. My grandmother very much wanted me to be a judge instead of going into politics, so even though I disappointed her by going into politics, at least now she knows that a group of judges are willing to meet with me even if I’m not one myself".
