Boks not escaping Puma claws...

Fantastic T20 between WI and India!!!!

Tough to call who will be in the top four by the end of the English season? Hull went down to Man U, but only by a solitary goal and that was conceded very late in the game. The other Manchester team had no trouble getting one over their opponents (West Ham United) though. It is going to make for a very intriguing Manchester derby.

Arsenal had to show that they can’t be written off just yet. A much better performance and worthy of the 3 log points that they have earned. But, are their shortcomings behind them or just ‘hidden’ until exposed again? Leicester, the reigning champions, won’t have it easy but are playing with that same passion that pulled them through during the last part of last season.

Atletico Madrid handed the momentum very early in the season to their Madrid neighbours (Real) and Barcelona already. Real Madrid did not have it easy, but showed the fighting spirit that make for champions.

Cape Town City’s dream start to the season knows no end. First they had a fantastic start to the League season only to follow that up by kicking Chiefs out of the MTN-8 competition! Leicester City in the making?

Sundowns showed South Africa that last season wasn’t the end of their project just yet as they withstood SuperSport’s onslaught and then swept the floor with them.

Their win was as comfortable as that of Chelsea in England. Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs were top of the list for teams who have lost games after leading first. Just for the record, this is not an achievement just in case those Liverpool supporters start thinking they won something last season. It is an achievement in itself that Conte managed his troops to get come-from-behind victories in their 2 opening games and now a clean sheet in the 3rd game.

Well done to all the winning teams!

It is no surprise that Argentina got the beating of the Springboks. Bear in mind this is a team that made the knock-outs of the past two World cups.

It does feel though like the Bokke lost some ground on the rest of the other teams around the globe. Currently the Aussies can also not be rated amongst those though.

The supposed weaker team in the four team Rugby Championship might actually stand the best chance of pushing the mighty All Blacks close. The one thing I like about sport is when a long term plan starts reaping rewards.

Let’s hope that we as South Africans won’t be short sighted now. Allistair needs to stick with this group of players, start with them every test until the end of the 2016 season (which includes the End of year tour). Perhaps he just needs to tweak here and there by starting Jaco Kriel, De Jongh and give some game time to Paige.

Well done to all the winning teams!
