Well done Hurricanes!

Go Team SA; rise @ Rio2016 Olympics

Mourinhou is back!!!!

Congrats to the Olympic medal winners thus far ..!

Soccer

First (competitive) game at the most successful team in England and what does Mourinhou do, he brings them silverware.

They say form is temporary, but class is permanent. Not too long ago he had to be fired, because he somehow struggled to work his mojo/magic at Chelsea.

I hear the doomsayers already saying this was a once-off ‘final’ and against Leicester, BUT United still needed to play the game. Didn’t they?

SA under 23’s played very well against the world’s best football talents. Add to this that Brazil was playing in front of a full house of home supporters and one will understand what a BIG point Amaglug-glug earned in their first game.

All of the best with the rest of the Olympic tournament.

Rugby

Let’s put something into perspective. The Hurricanes have been struggling (I prefer to say trying as this is the world’s toughest inter-provincial competition) for years and now they have finally won their maiden Superrugby title.

With that in mind Lions and probably SA supporters shouldn’t take heart of the final result and be upbeat about the season in a whole that the Lions had.

Let’s give credit where it is due though as the Canes played a little better under the circumstances. They kicked poor like the Lions did, they made silly mistake just like the Lions, but their defence held out at when it mattered most. This, unlike the Lions though is a team loaded with players with International experience, All Black players who have won a World cup.

If afforded the opportunity to stay together for a little while more they WILL eventually get over the final hurdle.

Well done to the Hurricanes for winning Superrugby 2016!

Cricket

England made sure that they won’t lose the 3rd Test but building a huge second innings and only declaring on day five. They did well to bowl Pakistan out and make the test series 2-1 in their favour.

During Australia’s dominance of basically all forms of cricket (T20 excluded) they managed to win just about anywhere in the world. They did lose once or twice, but who would have expected to lose against Sri Lanka and so badly.

Well played by Sri Lanka in taking a 2-0 lead!
