Of late, the question of education has become a topic that seems to be always lingering on our lips. Recently, men and women marched down new roads armed with rage to burn schools. And so began the chapter of self destruction. But let's unpack this.

When a misdirected political anger takes on an unconscious trajectory, we stop for a moment to question ourselves, even our own minds. Because when parents start burning down schools it clearly reflects the state of societal decay. That projects a combination of carelessness and ignorance.

However, rescuing the education of a black child from constant social instability must be a priority, even if it means we must confront fellow blacks who display moral uneducatedness. Any collective behavior that carries with itself a moral dysfunction, carries fatal consequences for the future of our country. Abigail van Buren warned that "People who fight fire with fire usually end up with ashes". Burning of schools is neither an answer nor a suggestion but a disservice to the education of our young people.

However, the challenges of education goes beyond an attitude of burning schools, to the core of its content. Our education system has exposed failures that seems to be deeper than democratic system itself. A black child has been receiving an ill-conceived education that proportionally guarantees failure. These children have been marginalized from access to resources that could help them reach their full potential.

About 75 percent of white children pass not because they are intelligent but because they are equipped with useful resources that assist them to better prepare for their exams. But when it comes to an education of a black child nobody seems to care, why is it like this?.

From the beginning education has been a political business. Come to think of it, If public schools were of same quality with private schools, then this would weakens the profit aspect for private schools. Because many parents wouldn't find it necessary to send their children to finer schools, and this would be a striking blow to all private school entrepreneurs.

Therefore, the primary mission of private schools has been to ensure that public schools don't keep up with the standard of private schools. So that parents would feel a need to send their children to private schools for a better education. In itself, this automatically ensures that the business side of education continues unabated.

It just doesn't make sense to me, our government spends twice as much than private schools on education budget but nothing seems to be working out well.

Unfortunately this has been a business that has also been gambled by politicians. Some of them are extra careful when it comes to improving the education system of our public schools. Because to them an element of underdevelopment to public schools is a profit. When one is used to the idea of eating one doesn't care much what one is eating.

This is in contradiction with democratic principles, this is an insult to our democracy. I suggest that government must form a commission that will investigate this pattern of domestic capitalism.

As a collective, we must fight against this threatening culture of burning down resources when we want resources. The burning down of schools adds up to the already existing problems, that needs to be addressed and categorized as inhumane. Heinrich Heine keenly observed that "Where they burn books, so too will they in the end burn human beings." Indeed, Heinrich's prophecy has already been into play in our society, but we need to ensure that this doesn't continue any longer.

A lot has been said but a lot hasn't been done. Leadership does not collapse because leaders are lost but leadership collapses when people stop believing in their leaders. However, leaders might not see this as a collapse because overtime their morality too collapses.

The reason why we romanticize the misconception of leadership is because we still define leadership in a prehistoric context. Whereby it is morally accepted for a leader to oppress the might of his leadership as he pleases.

Especially in African cultures, we have been culturally conditioned to believe that a leader is not less than an angel itself. Forgetting that these people are just human like us. They are just a selected few who have power to rule over others.

In reality there is nothing holy about a government or leadership, often their holiness is propagated for the sake of keeping people on their toes. Remember, a leader that is most dangerous to the people is the one that doesn't acknowledges its mistakes. Because its mistakes are directly responsible for the suffering and death of many.

We need to redefine leadership and disapprove of all the existing leadership crisis, that results to the culture of greed and leadership crimes. A true leader must be someone who is morally intellectual and whose ascendancy  is a product of time.

For too long our people suffered terribly under the hands of our leaders. This must end and it must end right now.

One thing that I know is that, when people are tired of being misled they stand up to lead themselves.
