EFF is like the person you friend-zoned that just won’t stop trying.

Since when is our legislature a circus?

I really feel like our country is moving in the right direction, we finally have competition within the numerous governmental structures and very strict checks and balances, however we don’t have any space and time for these EFF blunt attacks in the National Assembly and in the various provincial legislatures.

Obviously just coming out of a national election and taking into consideration the personality and character of Julius Malema, I anticipated disputes and personal attacks on the ruling party but one thing I will never compromise on and accept is this lack of respect for our law and its courts.

The Powers, Privileges, and Immunities of Parliament Act provides for a member to be suspended, fined, or forced to apologize if it is found that he or she showed contempt for the legislature.

Look, being someone who believes in the importance of marketing, I completely understand what the EFF are trying to do. The red overalls and the loud remarks are all part of Julius’s big plan to stay relevant during these 5 years so that they don’t disappear just like how COPE did in April. So the plan is as such, go out, be visible, attack everything and anything related to the ANC or DA and stand with the organisations and unions that are not in good relations with the ANC.

It really doesn’t take a genius to figure out what the EFF are doing. Don’t get me wrong though, I want our leaders to engage and dispute on issues because that’s to the benefit of the general public, however there is a very thick line between disputing and engaging on something well considered and disputing on anything said by the ANC.

We need to stop this stubborn negativism, if all Julius is going to say is “the ANC government massacred the people in Marikana.” Then he might as well step down as President of the EFF and let Dali lead. We as young people and citizens of this country are frustrated and fed up with leaders who emphasize points and past events to the extent where there is no time to hear their solutions if they actually have any.

Anyone can complain but it takes leaders, thinkers and doers to solve problems. Right now I’ve lost confidence in the leadership of the EFF but being someone who wants to see the best in everyone and everything, I will give the leadership an opportunity to prove me wrong. Prove that you are leaders and not just complainers, prove to the whole country that your seats in the National Assembly will influence positive change; if you cannot prove this to us then you might as well apologize to the 1 million people who voted for you in the elections.
