Has the ANC forgotten the people of South Africa?

We have witnessed a number of service delivery protests every week. In some of those protests community members have been shot and killed by the police while others got injured.

Community members are complaining about poor service delivery and that councillors who are not holding community meetings. First and foremost it is not clear why councillors are failing to hold report backs meetings after promising heaven and earth during highly marketed political campaigns during election times.

Moreover, it is also surprising how the IDP is drafted without public consultations? Do the executive mayor and EXCO just sit in the boardroom and decide that the community needs toilets while community members are in need of a clinic? Councillors must receive their own budget for wards they are representing. Then a councillor will organise a community meeting and inform members of the community how much was allocated to his/her ward and how the money must be spend in liaison with community members. As a result, the community will understand that their budget will not afford a tar road but at least it can afford to build a decent school.

Most councillors lack basic communication skills and they have low level of education. They were elected because they are comrades and they are rhetoric, we understand that. As a result a crash course in communication will assist them especially in using new media technology like whatsApp, Facebook and twitter to communicate with the community and also to respond to concerns.

The ANC is sitting on a time bomb. In his celebratory speech president Zuma said that his party will rule until Jesus comes. That alone was the downfall of his party. Seemingly The ANC Jesus will come sooner than our messiah. Who is going to save the ANC from itself ?

All the new ANC policies are anti-poor and anti- working class. People of Gauteng have said several times through protest and marches that they don't want E-tolls but the ANC is shoving it down their throats. The NDP is another wish list, which cannot solve current problems that South Africans are experiencing each and everyday. The level of arrogance they portray is unbearable. They are using the same force that was used by the apartheid government, our constitution states clearly that people have a right to demonstrate. We have witnessed police brutality during ongoing service delivery protest including the murder of Andries Tatane.

The million dollar question is who's going to save us from the ANC because it is not Mmusi Maimane as he declared in his celebratory speech that he was coming for president Zuma. He did not say he was going to stand up for the poor South Africans, nor did he say he was going to fight the EFF.
