How South Africans Won the Bloody War on the Guptas, A Minute Account

2017-06-02 13:59

South Africans are now rolling their eyes like a smiling Buddha. They launched a jihad against the Guptas and their surrogates and now they have won or at least they broke the camel's neck. Throughout the war I listened to South Africans. I was with them in the trenches, I felt their pulses, emotions, feelings, doubts and love for South Africa. I am a witness to the power and force that enabled them to win a decisive victory.

For sure the Bell Pottinger public relations company did a very good study of South Africans. They appear to be very quite good propagandists. A good propagandist brings to a boil ideas and passions already simmering in the minds of people. Propaganda can only work if the minds of people are already ripe. Bell Pottinger knew that South Africans are daily fighting silly racial battles. So they wanted to inflame these battles. That is one great quality of a good propagandist. Good propaganda only penetrates the minds already open. It articulates and justifies opinions already present in the minds of its targets. If the mind is not ready and ripe propaganda will not work.

Based on the knowledge of South Africa (daily bitter ugly racial wars), Bell Pottinger deployed delusional tools, dark techniques and strategies anchored on White Monopoly Capital. The purpose being to pour petrol on an over- heated racial polity.

And the attack dogs were unleashed on social media (mostly twitter) and made to straddle talk shows. The attack dogs were dedicated to the cause. Their white monopoly narrative was punchy, punishing, pushy, penetrating and pompous. With it they penetrated our beings with fistful rage and self-justificatory air.

It was supposed to be a sure win. A quick win.

Bang! It did not work!

Why?

What Bell Pottinger failed to realise is that beneath the silly daily racial battles, there is a solid layer that goes deep among South Africans. Beneath the surface is the ghost of Nelson Mandela that finds its expression through Simunye and Masakhane.

The war against Bell Pottinger and the Guptas was won on two fronts: Simunye and Masakhane. Simunye – we are one united nation and Masakhane – we are standing together in solidarity.

Nelson Mandela describes Masakhane as that tradition of standing together in solidarity to build the nation.

Simunye - We are One became the sounding phrase at the Public Broadcaster during the Nelson Mandela reign.

In launching masakhane in 1998 Nelson Mandela said: “South Africans have shown a tremendous capacity to join hands when facing difficulty. The apartheid system eventually fell because of the unity of those who were denied their rights; and because all sectors of society recognised that they had more to gain from working together than from fighting each other”. He further said: “Today we should all ask ourselves; what have I done to improve the surroundings in which I live? Do I spread racial hatred or do I promote peace and reconciliation”?

That is the question that Nelson Mandela left South Africans. The daily ugly racial struggles are only labor for an ideal nation. In the process love among South Africans is not lost and has never been lost.

Bell Pottinger firm failed to noticed this hidden layer of South Africans. It thought it can take the daily silly racial fights among South Africans and pitch them to a high level, and crush the country leaving the Guptas to feast freely on South African riches.

From the very beginning South Africans seized the centre ground. They realised from the beginning that their beautiful lily – South Africa - is being dragged down into the gutter.  They waged a jihad against the Gupta attack dogs. They punched the White Monopoly Capital phrase into a thousand cracks, declaring it as nothing but acidic, vulgarised and attention-driven trivialization of public discourse. White monopoly deception strategy did not have any chance. It was paralysed from the word go.

Oh, my goodness!!!

In the final analysis the attack dogs and the gurus of White Monopoly Capital on twitter blurred from being a niche interest to comic amusement. People were following them on social media to get amused not for any insights.

The war was like operation desert storm. When Saddam Hussein family captured and invaded Kuwait, a coalition of a dozen nations lined up about 1 million soldiers and began a five-week bombardment of Saddam Hussein’s command and control targets from air and sea. They drove Saddam out of Kuwait swift.

In South Africa this time around the operation desert storm was carried by a coalition of political parties, churches, civil society, university students. We saw the sown political foes walking side by side hand in hand in solidarity (masakhane) with one united mission (simunye); fighting the good fight of saving South Africa. They made an armed push to bail out South Africa from the raw sewage.

Bell Pottinger’s claim to cleverness unraveled and consigned them to the dustbin of historical public relations tragedy. And they left town, they quit. And for those who allowed to be used as attack dogs, ahead of them lies tears, trouble and tattered reputation of their own making. Any talent in the service of evil is an evil in itself.
