I’m CEO, B****: the words Trump wishes he can use since you’re left with egg on your face

2016-11-09 09:48

I'm CEO, B**** were the words on the back of Mark Zuckerberg’s business card when he became CEO of what is now one of the world’s fastest growing companies. Today, Donald Trump, a stark opposite of Zuck, is probably being roped back by his campaign managers from screaming on CNN that, I’m CEO, B****.

Surely, for the past two years, what with all that sewage that overflowed from his mouth and the threats to nations; minorities and; alarmingly, women, he desires so much to say it. He is now CEO of World Inc, after all – and many of us gasp in shock. Like it or not, people of the new world have to swallow that uncanny truth.

But, let’s think of it from a new perspective now that bashing the sexist and card-caring misogynist and racist failed to block his historic swoop of the White House. He is installed as leader of the new world come January 2017 and the most powerful man in alive.

Bar the sexism, the vitriol and an infinite list of the evil he wished to unleash on innocent people, President Donald Trump (tjoo) may not be all that bad. As people, we always expect the average and familiar as opposed to something completely and even shockingly different. Different has always changed the status quo.

Trump is different, shocking and worse things you can think of, both on his campaign trail and some of his personal history. But different and unfamiliar characters sometimes change the course of the world for the better – or worse. One thing certain is that things will never be the same or in the grey. Trump is a total outlier, and because of this, I now think he will shift the world agenda, just in time when that agenda needed to shift – again, for better or worse.

For one, he will start on a course to isolate the US and his citizens, the very ones that picked him, just like we chose Zuma. The result will be that they turn against him and the Republicans. The institutions that are meant to keep Capitol Hill leadership in check may rise and finally realise how bad the US and its foreign policies are for the new world. As they call him to order, a few bad foreign policies may change in a black swan effect.

As for the many self-defeating rhetoric that he churned out on his campaign trail, many doubt he will implement – or at least not in the illegal many that he has proposed. As his campaign tapered off, he was already making suggestive about-turns on some hardline policy wet dreams. Many of the hateful and from-the-hip rhetoric and wishes were all for the vote and for getting into the White House. Many of his school playground wishes are not even constitutional, some well-respected experts have said.

The damage to the US brand is only in that the world is shocked at what makes such a majority of people in a developed country tick – and little did we expect that it’s Trump. A man who enjoys and brags about women abuse: White House female interns should duck.

The other terrible takeaway from the election win is how much seemingly sexist the US population is. Many probably did not vote for Hilary Clinton perhaps on the basis that she is a woman, and they are not yet trusting of a female Potus. It seems like even those scared-to-death of a Trump regime could not settle for option two. How backward, and here I thought Africa was backward, as they, the Americans often say.

On his key policies and pronouncements:

Foreign policy

Destroying terror groups, as he aims to, is not such a bad idea. The issue is targeting all muslims and paint them with the same brush. Going about this unconstitutionally would flare up hatred and terror, sparking new wars and ruin some Arabic countries with renewed US escapades. And the Iran nuclear deal will hold – I do not see how congress would allow him to reverse it and stand to lose the billions the US exploitive multinationals stand to make in Iran’s new open economy.

Immigration

He might not build that expensive wall across Mexico. Experts say it is kind of not doable. But keeping illegal immigrants out of your border is the responsibility of any country leader, if it is done in a legal manner that does not amount to rendition. In SA, we deport illegal foreign nationals daily, sometimes in renditions with untold fatal horrors.

Abortion

Abortion is a controversial issue across the world. That he chooses either support of or not, is just as much as someone would as well. He chooses to support life and not fund abortion by government funds. He claims that unless if its abortion as a results of forced sex.

Guns

The US has a colourful and documented homegrown violent attacks problem in public facilities. His policy around cleaning the streets and keeping the mentally ill who are potentially violent mass shooters off the streets is not nonsense as it is made out to be.  And empowering legal owners to defend themselves is not a bad idea either. But these comes with a need to control the police and their violence while ensuring gun control is not racialised with the results being more incarcerated black young men.

Having said all that, Donald J. Trump is without doubt a bad, bad man full of hatred and an egomaniac. He feels extremely privileged to do as he pleases and refuses no for an answer while he is incapable to concede to other people’s view of the world that differs to his. But that was a time when he ran casinos, The Apprentice and Miss Universe.

Now he runs the world, ahem, the US. So, President Donald Trump might behave starkly different to Donald J. Trump, because his office, and Congress and World Inc., requires that of him. He has two months of orientation to grow from a man-child to Mr President before he is handed the nuclear codes (Putin already has his memorised). Obama left some good notes and the blueprint for the new Potus. I do not think he will be saying, I’m President, B**** anytime soon, his team will not have any of it.
